If you need a break from catching up on the latest twist to the Vogue editors versus bloggers saga, we have just the #content for you — fresh from thescene of the drama. Before we turn our full attention to the fourth and final city of fashion month, let's take a look back at all the memorable looks from outside Milan Fashion Week shows. Our favorite outfits came from not only bloggers, but also editors and stylists and other unknown chic women — wearing brand-approved looks and not — as is always true from our city roundups.

Milan Fashion Week Roundup: The Big Three

Categories:Other Brands

Milan Fashion Week Roundup

When it comes to Italian handbags, there are three supremely reigning brands. Gucciicon, Fendi, and Pradaicon run the show – and they regularly blast the other Milan Fashion Week shows out of the competition. For the Spring ’16 season, the designers for all three well-seasoned houses seemed to have a single mission on the mind: To showcase their lust for life.

At Gucci, where the brilliant Alessandro Michele continues to inspire, ignite, and delight, Renaissance royalty met up with street-tough graffiti, candy shop colors were contrasted against unwavering primaries, and iconic styles continued to be revamped with major innovation. Their new bag collection is genuinely eclectic. Just try to choose between the logo-laden and piped pastels, hard-structured briefcase bags featuring upbeat exotic skins with racing stripe and chain accents, luxe metallic or velvet options, or the newly, even more wildly appliquéd Dionysus.

Karl Lagerfeld took Fendi in a flirty (so many ruffles!), playful (so much color!), and very graphic (enough dizzying lines to make your head spin – in a good way, of course!) direction, by way of both the ready-to-wear and the bags. Stripy fur collides with decorated panels of optically intriguing leather accents with bold straps to match. As for the palette? The best way to describe it is crazy colorful. Fluffy tufts, kaleidoscopic python, and the Peekaboo with a ruffle-trimmed makeover: The whole effect is enough to inspire a dopamine rush.

Finally, Miuccia Prada’s wild “vagabond” woman, who sports her corset over her impeccably tailored jacket and wears a variety of updated rifts on the hiking boot. The notion of sporting your metal-accented, itty-bitty baby bag as a pendant dangling from your neck? Don’t be surprised when you see the friskiest of street-style stars sporting theirs like that in a few months, although fastening the little buckled creations to your belt is probably a bit more comfortable. Top handles remained classic in trademark Prada saffiano leather, while elements of sport arrived in the form of slick quilting, proving Miuccia is livelier than ever.
